Larson/Cox End 2000 Season on the Roof

Unfortunately, we have no good news to report any more. A brief meeting with a couple of trees put an end to the the Marblesoft Eagle Talon.

Here's how we blew the Central Division PGT championship.

Oh, well. The rest of the site is still here and I hope you find it interesting. Here it is:

SCCA ProRally

Real Cars, Real Roads, Real Fast!

ProRally (formerly called Pro Rally) is the name of the Sports Car Club of America's performance rally series. Contestants compete in highly modified street legal cars at incredible speeds over difficult terrain on closed roads.

The courses vary up to several hundred miles over a variety of unpaved roads, typically logging or mountain roads. A co-driver reads the route book and warns the driver of upcoming turns or hazards. A typical stage might be 10 miles on a closed forest road. In between stages, the cars travel at legal speeds on public roads to get to the next special stage.

ProRally is one of the most thrilling sports on the planet. Imagine blasting down a narrow, gravel road that you've never been on before, flat out, in the middle of the night, not knowing what's over the hill you're cresting, trusting your co-driver hasn't forgotten to tell you about a hazard on the other side. Imagine doing that as a passenger, trying not to lose your place on a route book as you bounce around inside the car, with one eye on the odometer, trying to count backwards to warn your driver of the next turn. You can see why even the most experienced co-drivers are prone to motion sickness on a ProRally!

Rallycross is the term for solo events on unpaved surfaces. While they don't count for points in the ProRally series, rallycrosses are great for developing your driving skills on gravel, and a lot of fun besides. Anyone can run a rallycross in just about any car. There are no co-drivers, just you and your car against the clock on a closed course.

I'd like to tell you a little about ProRally and a lot about my car and my efforts at ProRally and rallycross. You can tell I've become a big fan of the Eagle Talon/Mitsubishi Eclipse/Plymouth Laser as a rally car. I've got a few pictures to look at and some links to some really great ProRally sites. Hopefully we can convince you to come out and give this sport a try as a spectator, worker or contestant. See you out in the woods!
